The Department of Pulmonary Medicine offers several routine and advanced services which include the following:
Department provide inpatient care for various respiratory diseases such as COPD, Asthma, pleural diseases, interstitial lung disease, Lung cancer and other heterogeneous conditions leading to respiratory failure. Our ward has 15 beds including 4 bedded HDU.
We have a dedicated ICU with 8 beds on the same floor with “state of art” monitoring facility for each bed.

CRITICAL CARE
- • Dedicated Respiratory ICU with high end ventilators
- • Arterial line/central line placement
- • Non invasive ventilation(BiPAP, CPAP)
- • Critical care ultrasound (POCUS)
- • High-flow oxygen by nasal cannula (HFNC)
- • Intermittent pneumatic compression for DVT prophylaxis
- • Percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy (PDT)

SLEEP MEDICINE
- • Four bedded state-of-the-art Sleep Lab
- • Diagnostic sleep studies
- • Manual scoring and manual titration with CPAP, Bilevel PAP, AVAPS, ASV
- • Multiple sleep latency test (MLST)
- • Transcutaneous CO2
- • Diagnosis and treatment of various sleep related disorders e.g. OSA, CSA, Sleep Related Movement Disorders, Narcolepsy, Parasomnias, Circadian rhythm disorders, Insomnias e.t.c

LUNG CANCER: We routinely manage lung cancer patients in our unit. Medical Treatment like chemotherapy, targeted therapy is being advised. CTVS department is very active in surgery of early lung cancer patients. Radiotherapy is being offered whenever indicated.

- • Endurance training exercises- Treadmill, Stationary Cycling, Arm Ergometer
- • Strength training/resistance exercises: Elastic Resistance Bands, Dumbbells, Weight Cuffs
- • Flexibility exercises: ROM of all UL, LL joints
- • Breathing exercises :Diaphragmatic Breathing, Pursed Lip Breathing, Sustained Maximal Inspiration
