About Department

About

Department of Pediatrics has 9 faculty members, 12 senior residents and 17 academic junior Residents.
The department has been identified as a training centre for all cadres of health care personnel for the entire state for Emergency Triage Assessment & Treatment (ETAT Training), Indian academy of pediatrics (IAP) CPR centre, F-SAM training , IYCF training, F-IMNCI, ALS , NRP, AEFI orientation training , NTP-PPO National training project in practical pediatric oncology Training and others. The department is also organizing seminars, workshop, conferences for postgraduates, IAP members and other health care providers.
The department is regularly conducting awareness programmes to celebrate various national days/weeks such as ORS, Breastfeeding, world kidney day, world diabetes day, world cancer day etc.
The centre is carrying out many research projects funded through various extramural agencies like ICMR, DHR, DBT.
The department has been awarded LEVEL-A centre for pediatric nephrology services under the auspices of International Society of Nephrology (ISN) Sister Renal Center (SRC) in collaboration with Division of Paediatric Nephrology, McGill university health centre.
The department has established centre of excellence for newborn screening for common metabolic disorders and hemo-globinopathies & also the centre of excellence for Rare Diseases.

collaborative learning and innovative teaching methods.

Continual training and development programs are conducted for all the staff on a timely basis

such that the staff is well versed in quality improvement programs and risk management.
